SEVEN Networks Joins the Open Mobile Alliance

Company Brings Expertise and Technology for Managing Mobile App Traffic to Wireless Standards Body

REDWOOD CITY, California - Feb. 19, 2013 - SEVEN Networks® today announced it has joined the Open Mobile Alliance (OMA), a wireless network standards organization, to contribute to the OMA’s efforts to alleviate the impact of smartphone app signaling on carrier networks.

OMA was formed in June 2002 by the world’s leading mobile operators, device and network suppliers, information technology companies and content and service providers. OMA delivers open specifications for creating interoperable services that work across all geographical boundaries, on any bearer network. OMA’s specifications support the billions of new and existing fixed and mobile terminals across a variety of mobile networks, including traditional cellular operator networks and emerging networks supporting machine-to-machine device communication.

SEVEN Networks is a leader in mobile traffic management and optimization. The company’s Open Channel® software products are designed to help carriers take back control of app data traffic while improving the customer experience for subscribers. Open Channel™ products are designed to deliver end-to-end mobile traffic visibility, optimization and management helping to reduce costs for carriers and restore control over data traffic.

“Joining the OMA is a way for us to contribute our expertise to an industry effort to create the standards that will drive success in the wireless industry for years to come,” said Ross Bott, SEVEN’s President and Chief Executive Officer. “Our success with Open Channel has given us insight and passion around the issue of network signaling and mobile traffic management. We look forward to working with our peers to expand the solutions available for this challenge.”

“Our goals at OMA are to deliver the highest quality, open technical specifications, as well as ensuring that these enabler specifications provide interoperability,” said Seth Newberry, OMA’s general manager. “SEVEN Networks and OMA have a common aim to define the standards that will result in applications running better across wireless networks, and we are thrilled to have SEVEN contributing to this within OMA.”

SEVEN Networks will attend Mobile World Congress and invites interested mobile carriers and device manufacturers to meet with SEVEN executives and product experts at the event. To schedule a face-to-face meeting, contact SEVEN at
